Paint & Dust with Zero Fuss!
Sweet Sticks Alcohol Free Activator is a revolutionary solution to turn Sweet Sticks Paint Powders and Lustre Dusts into pure paint designed for the Religious, Vegan, Conscious Caker and Stencil Artist decorators.
This product is a game changer for the religious and vegan cake decorators as unlike Rose Spirit it consists of zero alcohol and it only uses vegan friendly ingredients.
It paints on almost all mediums and dries completely rub free allowing you to package your cookies and cakesicles without worrying about your lustre smudging onto the cello bags.
To use on stencils or large surface areas the 'Paint & Dust with Zero Fuss' method is recommended to ensure a perfect even coat. Simply paint a thin coat of activator onto the medium first. Then dust your lustre on afterwards for the most amazing metallic shine.
For a paint, simply mix equal parts or until you have found the right consistency.
As this product is water based - large surface areas on fondant and chocolate do not work well when this product is used to form a paint. Use the Paint & Dust with Zero Fuss method as mentioned above instead.

How to use Sweet Sticks Alcohol Free Activator:
Paint & Dust with Zero Fuss Method (Large Surfaces):
- Dip your brush into the activator and apply a thin layer onto the surface. Less is best. The less back and forth with the activator the better!
- Using a Lustre Brush, apply lustre onto the wet area.
- Once covered, use your dry Lustre Brush and brush away any leftover lustre.
- You will need 2 brushes for this technique. One wet and the other must be dry.
Make Paint using Alcohol Free Activator + Lustre Dust (Small Surfaces):
- Place the amount of lustre you need into your palette and add alcohol free activator. Mix until it forms a paint like consistency.
- This method is great for small surfaces such as raised fondant cookies and finer details. It works well on chilled swiss meringue buttercream.
Stencils:
- Holding the stencil securely on the surface, dip your brush into the alcohol free activator and apply a thin layer over the top. Less is best. The less back and forth with the activator the better. The stencil will become sticky and it will stay in place.
- Using a dry lustre brush, gently apply lustre dust onto the wet area. Brush away any excess / loose dust.
- When you are finished, slowly remove the stencil and admire your work of art!
- This method works on Ganache, Fondant and Buttercream. It will not work on Swiss Meringue Buttercream because of the oily surface.
Paint Powders & Alcohol Free Activator (Small Surfaces):
- Place the amount of paint powder you need into your palette and add alcohol free activator. Mix until it forms a paint like consistency.
- This method is great for small surfaces such as raised fondant cookies and finer details.
- This combination does not work on chocolate.
