Homemade Hot Chocolate Bombs

Dec 9, 2024

These Hot Chocolate Bombs are perfect for serving at your Christmas celebration, or packaged for Christmas gifts.

A hot chocolate bomb is a hollow chocolate sphere filled with cocoa, marshmallows, or other goodies. Pour hot milk over it, and watch it melt to reveal its tasty filling!

Ingredients
Wilton Sphere Choc Bomb Candy Mould (or use a silicone hemisphere mould)
1 ½ cup (300g) chocolate (can be milk, semi-sweet or white)
3 tablespoons (90 g) cocoa
3 tablespoons (90 g) sugar (you can use coconut sugar)
1 pinch of cinnamon
Mini marshmallows
Christmas sprinkles for decorating
Brush or paintbrush
Spatula

Step 1
Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 30-second intervals or in a bain-marie. Be careful not to let any water fall on the chocolate so that it doesn't split.

Step 2
Separately, mix the cocoa with the sugar and cinnamon and set aside.

Step 3
Once the chocolate is melted, place a spoonful into each cavity and use a spatula or brush to paint each cavity with chocolate. Make sure the edges of the mold are well covered. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Step 4
Remove from the refrigerator and cover the edges again to make them thicker and refrigerate for one more minute.

Step 5
Remove from the mold very carefully and let them rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes so that they don't melt in your hands.

Add 1 tablespoon of the powder mixture and a few marshmallows.

Step 6
Heat a plate in the microwave or a pan until warm. Cut your empty hot bomb to melt just the edge. Stick it to the other section that already has filling and remove the excess chocolate.

To decorate, melt a little chocolate following the same procedure and with a fork drop it over the hot bomb, then sprinkle the Christmas sprinkles.

To serve, place your hot bomb in your mug, boil milk and pour over.
